Closed for the season. Look for opening day in May 2015.
Field Station: Dinosaurs is a world-class family attraction that combines cutting-edge science with the creative minds of great artists to create a one-of-kind experience that's thrilling, educational and fun. This year, they will have 9 new shows!
Guests will have a T-Rexcellent time wandering among the 32 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, seeing several new audience-participation shows starring a 15-foot interactive T-Rex, and joining in a new series of shows and activities called "Dig Deeper" where paleontologists of all ages will laugh and learn as they explore a world full of famous scientists, rocks from outer space and polka dotted Stegosauruses. There are also hands-on workshops, created with paleontologists and scientists at the New Jersey State Museum, with intriguing names like Bonehunters, Alien Rocks, and Ancient Energy.
The park’s new movie tent offers Explorer’s, Commander’s, and Season Pass holders a place to rest their weary feet while seeing the deserts of Mongolia and New Mexico in 3D. “Dinosaurs Alive! is the perfect fit for our young explorers at the Field Station,” continues Gsell. “We believe that serious science doesn't have to be stuffy and that great entertainment can be educational. Dinosaurs Alive! is both."
Visitors can finish off the day with (or come back tomorrow for) a round of games including last season favorites, Raptor Feud, Mezosoic Concentration and the T-Rex Games, along with new fun including a Dinosaur Dance Party and history tales about Snake Hill.
“At Field Station: Dinosaurs, children play a part in every show. They dig for dinosaur skeletons, hold real fossils and meet life-sized dinosaurs face-to-face. It's every little scientist's dream come true.”
Set against the breathtaking natural backdrop of the New Jersey Meadowlands and nestled at the base of a 150 million year old rock formation, the Field Station is an oasis of natural wonder just nine minutes from New York City.
Over thirty life-sized, realistic dinosaurs (including the 90 foot long Argentinasaurus, the largest animatronic dinosaur ever made) come to life thanks to the brilliant engineering of the world's leading roboticists and the imagination of our artists.
